Settling in!

Haven't updated in a bit..been busy! Nanny is settling in just fine! she is very independent and can do quite a bit for herself. She has been getting her lunch, breakfast, and I make dinner, for the most part me and Roy go down and sit at her table to have dinner. She is getting used to the electric stair chair! We are getting into a routine now...every Thursday we strip the bed and she insists on helping me make it. We have been out and about a bit but it just won't STOP snowing!! supposed to start warming up next week...we shall see!

 Ryan, Roy jr. and Cheryl came down the first weekend she was here and we actually had some nice weather on that Saturday so was able to sit out for most of the day. by Monday, April 2nd, she had her first appointment and got established with care. We went to Wal Mart after and she was all over the place!

That following weekend Keely, Taylor and Sully came down and that Saturday was nice too! Sully was able to do his Easter outside and Nanny gave Sully his Fireman suit! He loves it and had to wear it to school when he got home! The intercom works well! one box was near Sully and Nanny called up, Sully yelled 'Nanny scared the hell out of me!" needless to say you try not to laugh and tell him he can't say that!

Roy took off that first week, Nanny finally kicked him out! Said he didn't need to come down every 2 minutes! she was fine! We have been tweaking different things as we come across them, moving a nightstand or a light, got a cup holder for her walker, small things like that. The cats are definitely settling in! Nanny says Boots is doing things he never did down in Texas! maybe he's actually getting some exercise! Our cat Sammy (their mother) and Snappy do not get along! Snappy does want to play with Duke, out Poochon, he's still a pup and crazy!

We have the nurses coming in twice a week and aides coming in twice a week. So that is going real well, finally getting in a routine with that also. They have started coming Tuesday's and Thursday's.
Her cell phone is having issues, working on getting a landline and big button phone for vision impaired that has speed dial so we can plug people in, might be limited on amount of numbers on speed dial but will look around for best option.

Have appointments set up for ortho and podiatry, eye and working on urology, she can get in pretty quick. Ortho is the 20th and she needed podiatry for July so all set, then her eye appointment is May 18th. We have a pedal machine that sits on the floor and she is using that to exercise on top of walking and making sure she isn't sitting too long.

Her audio books are coming in! she has them coming and going! The crazy cats are settling in also, she says Boots is doing things he never has done before...he needs to move around more!

Looking at doing some raised beds this year so think that will be great and I have huge flower beds, things are trying to pop up and seeing buds on the trees now!
